Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 2, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains, in plain language, what Matthew Bible AI may collect and why. It applies to the free Bible study app developed by Matthew Shiloh.

Information the app may collect

  • Account and authentication information: we use Clerk to handle authentication, which securely processes your email address and credentials to create and protect your account.
  • Profile information: details you choose to add, such as your display name.
  • Study content: saved studies, saved verses, highlights, bookmarks, notes, and conversation history you create, which are securely stored in our database.
  • Cookies and session technologies: technologies needed to keep you signed in, protect the app, and remember basic session state.

How information is used

Information is used to provide Bible reading and study features, save and restore your content, authenticate your account, prevent misuse, troubleshoot problems, and improve the app.

To provide the service, relevant information may be processed by necessary providers. For example, your questions are processed by AI models to generate requested explanations, and Bible references are sent to API.Bible (which requires FUMS tracking tokens) to retrieve the NIV text. Providers process information under their own terms and privacy practices.

What we do not do

Matthew Bible AI does not sell personal information. The app is not designed to collect more personal information than is needed for the service. Do not submit sensitive information that you would not want processed as part of a Bible-study conversation.

Your choices and data deletion

You can review or remove saved studies, verses, highlights, bookmarks, notes, and conversations using the available features in your account. To request full account deletion and the removal of all your stored study data, please email support@matthewbibleai.com from your account email address. You may also stop using the service and clear cookies through your browser settings, though authenticated features will no longer work.

Retention and security

Information is retained only as needed to provide the service, maintain account and study features, meet legitimate operational needs, or comply with law. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to secure your data, but no online service can promise perfect security. Avoid putting passwords, financial details, or other highly sensitive information into study questions or notes.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the app or its data practices change. The effective date above will show when it was last updated.
